Photographer in Riga

Emotions live in a moment. Photographs keep them forever.

About me

Hi! I'm Inara, a photographer with my own studio in Riga

Photographer Inara in her studio in Riga

“You don't need to know how to pose. That's my job”

I've been in front of the camera a lot myself. So I remember what it's like to stand there not knowing what to do with your hands.

“Fabric shoots: that's where it all began”

I was one of the first in Riga to shoot this way, and later taught masterclasses on it.

“You can come to me empty-handed”

Dresses, jewellery, hats, fabrics: the whole studio wardrobe is yours to use.

“This is your day and your celebration”

After that, the photographs live on in the family archive, beyond fashion and beyond time, and one day they become the family's history.

“You can simply write and ask me”

I reply myself, no forms or managers. I stay with you from the shoot to the finished gallery, and I remember the people who come back.

How it works

What to expect

Five steps, from first message to finished photos

Message

You message me on WhatsApp and we choose a date.

Preparation

We choose your looks and plan the shoot.

The shoot

Free parking at the entrance, and I'll meet you myself.

Selection

In a week, all photos are colour-corrected. We pick the ones to retouch.

Finished photos

Edited photos and a reel or behind-the-scenes video in 2–3 weeks.

Message

First we'll work out which shoot you're interested in: I'll explain the options and which one best fits what you have in mind. Then we'll pick a date that suits you and lock it in. It's reserved for you once you pay a €50 deposit, and that amount is included in the price of the shoot. It's best to plan about a month or two ahead: there are more free days and less of a rush to prepare.

Preparation

I'll ask you to send a few examples of photos you like and a couple of your own: your features, hair colour and length help me choose a look. We'll go through your wardrobe and what suits you from the studio's clothes and accessories. We put the looks together, and I'll advise you on what works best. I'll send you portfolios of make-up and hair artists: you can choose yourself, or I'll suggest someone close to you. If you'd like, we can add a stylist too.

The shoot

We start by getting to know each other over a cup of tea and looking at what you've brought. I show you what I've prepared for you and we go over the plan. I ask what music you like, because it makes it easier to get into character. I always guide you, show you the poses, tell you where to stand and where to look, and sometimes ask you to dance. Between looks there's a tea break: the studio is yours for the whole shoot, so there's no need to hurry.

Selection

I'll send you a link to an online gallery where you can simply mark the shots you want. I suggest choosing with an eye to where the photos will live: for a portrait on the wall or a profile picture, pick close-ups, as they benefit most from retouching, and the fabric shots, which I edit with particular care. Full-length and mid-shots look good as they are. If the choice is hard, I'll show you my favourites and explain what makes each one work.

Finished photos

I'll send a new link: large print-ready files and an online album with the edited shots. We choose the level of retouching together: as natural as possible, with only obvious flaws, background and colour; aesthetic, with even skin tone, creases and adjusted clothing; or magazine, more idealised, with a background change. Before I start, I'll ask what to fix and what to leave as it is: one woman wants a mole removed, another wants to keep it. I'll also tell you where to get them printed.
